This 12th Edible Garden Tour will again be hosted with Covid precautions in place - masks required!

Join us for a fun walking or biking tour of neighborhood gardens, planting strips, containers, raised beds, chickens, and all sorts of creative edibles from fruit trees to berries to veggies galore. Plan to spend a day walking or biking through Ballard to discover how your neighbors raise urban fruits and vegetables. Gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions. If you’re new to gardening, we hope that you can join us to see what other gardeners in the neighborhood are doing and get some tips!

The tour includes 18 gardens to explore within walking distance of each other in Southeast Ballard. The tour is self-guided. Just bring your ticket to pick up your tour map at the start point. Look for our green tent at Gilman Playground - near the intersection of 9th Ave NW & NW 53rd St.

As anyone who’s recently tried to find vegetable seeds or plant starts can attest, there has been a renewed interest in edible gardening this year as people spend more time at home and try to make do with fewer grocery trips. Sustainable Ballard hopes that our annual Edible Garden Tour will inspire and inform all the budding gardeners out there!

*Your $15 donation supports Sustainable Ballard’s community projects. Children 10 and under are free! Sustainable Ballard Supporting Members are FREE. Now in its 12th year, the Edible Garden Tour has been an inspiration to hundreds of gardeners every summer.
